Full Barista Course

A minimum 32-day programme covering everything a barista needs to know - from coffee theory and beverage preparation to brewing techniques, latte art, food safety, and a full internship inside Dark Beans Café. Taught to international standards, with no chemicals used in any training.

Course modules

Module 1

Coffee theory

Bean types, origins, roast levels, and how each factor shapes what ends up in the cup.

Module 2

Beverage preparation

Practical preparation of the full espresso-based menu — consistency, ratios, and presentation.

Module 3

Brewing techniques

Pour-over, French press, AeroPress, and more — grind, ratio, and timing for each method.

Module 4

Latte art training

Steaming technique, microfoam texture, and pouring to produce clean, consistent latte art.

Module 5

Food safety & hygiene

Safe food handling, sanitation routines, and the hygiene practices required in professional cafés.

Module 6

Customer service

Hospitality mindset, clear communication, and delivering a great experience to every guest.

Week-by-week

Week 1
Theory class
Coffee science, bean knowledge, flavour vocabulary, espresso theory, and equipment orientation.
Week 2
Beverages & brewing practicals
Hands-on espresso menu preparation and various brewing method sessions, focusing on consistency and technique.
Week 3
Latte art, food safety & customer service
Intensive latte art practice alongside food safety certification training and customer service workshops.
Week 4
Internship at Dark Beans Café
Work on the live café floor - taking orders, interacting with customers, preparing bills, and handling cash. Real experience, not observation. If more time is needed, extra days are added at no charge to reinforce any weak areas.

01Do I need any prior coffee experience?+
No. The Full Course starts from the fundamentals and builds steadily. It is suitable for complete beginners with no background in coffee.
02How long does the course take?+
The minimum duration is 32 days, covering theory, practicals, and your internship. If you need additional time to master any area, extra days are provided at no extra charge.
03What happens if I am slower to pick up a skill?+
We identify your weak areas and add extra training days to reinforce them. There is no pressure and no additional fee - we do not move on until you are ready.
04What does the internship actually involve?+
You work on the real floor at Dark Beans Café - taking customer orders, interacting with guests, preparing bills, and handling cash. It is live, practical experience from day one of your internship.
05Are chemicals used in any part of the training?+
No chemicals are used in any of our training. All sessions use natural products only, in line with safe and professional café standards.
06How many students are in each group?+
We keep groups to a maximum of 4 students. This ensures every student receives close personal attention from the trainer throughout the course.
07Will I receive a certificate?+
Yes. On completing the course you receive a Dark Beans Barista Training certificate, recognised by premium cafés in Nepal and internationally.
